About us

Rachel Dickson and Emma Russell set up Dickson Russell Art Management in May 1992 after varied careers in the art worlds in London and New York.

Drawing on their combined curatorial expertise and management skills, they have developed a successful working partnership to provide a full range of art consultancy services to meet the needs of corporate clients.

Dickson Russell believes that artworks enhance the working environment for staff and visitors alike. Art can be used to project an image and identity, often at the fraction of the cost of an annual 'planting' budget.

Dickson Russell works with each client to explore its individual art requirements, whether it wishes to acquire a permanent collection, update an existing collection, or curate a programme of changing exhibitions.

At the outset of each project, Dickson Russell tries to gain an understanding of the client's core business and the message it wishes to convey, as well as reviewing the premises that will be used to display the art.

Unlike a gallery, Dickson Russell holds no stock of art, but sources work impartially for each project according to the needs and budget of the client. It is not limited to advising clients solely on contemporary art but also looks at historic works in a variety of media.

The consultancy draws on contacts with third parties to provide specialist services such as restoration, framing, packing and shipping, and installation.

All projects are charged on a time basis. Dickson Russell takes no commission on artworks purchased and charges all third-party services at cost. Any trade discounts obtained are passed onto the client in full.
